Instagram and Pinterest StreamlineE-commerce

By: Spritz  |  June 29, 2015  |

This summer, both Pinterest and Instagram are rolling out new features to streamline and enhance the way e-commerce is conducted on their respective platforms. Businesses that have been using Pinterest and Instagram to showcase their products and services will now be able to optimize use of these applications to advertise products and brands.

With the introduction of Buyable Pins, Pinterest is closing the gap between “want” and “have” for its users; pinners can now buy products directly from the Pinterest app if the price sticker on a pin is blue. Buyable Pins will allow smaller businesses to use this social media channel as an extension of their storefronts and as a way to introduce their brands to consumers who wouldn’t have found them otherwise.

Instagram is also working on connecting people to their favorite local stores and restaurants as well as globally recognized brands. Previously, retailers’ use of Instagram focused on growing brand loyalty rather than increasing sales. Now, advertisers and businesses of all sizes will be able to target consumers in more effective, relevant ways with clickable links that drive traffic directly to their websites.

The change will be in the form of a new “action-oriented” layout that features “Learn More”, “Shop Now”, “Install Now”, and “Sign Up” buttons below images, making Instagram marketing clickable for the first time.

Both Pinterest and Instagram are evolving into more intuitive marketing platforms and are leveraging their capabilities to allow advertisers to effectively drive traffic, awareness, and sales in real time. The updates, set to unveil in the coming weeks, are making marketing and sales through social media more impactful.

Scoma’s Restaurant Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary!

By: Spritz  |  June 25, 2015  |

Spritz has been working with Scoma’s for the past 2 years and was proud to partner in the planning and execution of Scoma’s 50th Anniversary Celebration last week. Thursday’s festivities included over 400 loyal patrons, local dignitaries, media and industry colleagues in attendance!

Spritz helped develop the event and secured an appearance by the Rat Pack, who mingled with guests and performed timeless songs that reflect the era when Scoma’s first opened its doors! Scoma’s may have aesthetically modernized in some ways, but the appearance by Frank, Dino, Sammy and Joey helped reinforce the traditional, classic feel that first made the restaurant popular.

Spritz also coordinated appearances from city officials, local celebrities, and dignitaries and invited key media while developing several partnerships betweenScoma’s,Celebrity Cruises, and Madame Tussauds, and PIER2620 Hotel.

Members of the Spritz team welcomed guests as they arrived on the red carpet overlooking the Bay. Guests were then invited to enter a drawing to win a Modern Luxury gift basket courtesy of Celebrity Cruises.

In the restaurant entrance, VIP guests had the chance to take pictures with a past Scoma’s patron, Tony Bennett, whose wax figure was brought to Scoma’s from world famous Madame Tussauds just down the street in Fisherman’s Wharf. Commemorative photos by the Scoma’s Step and Repeat were also provided to guests.

Guests sampled some of Scoma’s classic dishes, such as Crab Cakes and Crab Louie Salad, while mingling with various members of the Scoma’s family and team, including Cheryl Scoma herself and new Culinary Director Gordon Drysdale. Chef Drysdale’s commitment to the freshest, most sustainable fish and ingredients is exhibited by his ambitions to reopen the Scoma’s smokehouse and the continuance of their own fish-receiving station.

It was exciting for Spritz to witness everyone come together to celebrate the Scoma’s legacy in the renovated dining rooms and along the new fireplace as they shared their own Scoma’s dining experience stories over a glass of champagne served from the restaurant’s new bar lounge.

The event, emceed by award-winning host of KCBS’ Foodie Chap, Liam Mayclem, culminated in a special presentation where State Assembly member David Chiu, along with city officials Phil Ting, Jim Molinari, and Anna Damiani, honored Scoma’s with a proclamation certificate that officially established June 18th, 2015 as Scoma’s Day.

Tom Creedon, son-in-law of the late Al Scoma and part owner of the restaurant, was recognized and received the certificates for their dedication to fresh, sustainable food over the years. Alongside him was Cheryl Scoma, Al’s beloved wife, and her grandson A.J.

During what was truly a memorable afternoon for the Scoma’s family, dignitaries including the Italian Consul General Mauro Battocchi, Russian Consul General Sergey Petrov, and Singapore Consul General Christopher Cheang spoke about how Scoma’s has become an important part of our world-class city.

The celebration is not over, however, as Scoma’s continues its anniversary programs with a video recipe contest on Facebook. In partnership with Celebrity Cruises, Scoma’s is offering its fans and patrons the opportunity to submit 60-second videos detailing their favorite Sicilian-inspired recipe for a chance to win a Celebrity Cruises Europe Cruise for two!

Check out the terms and conditions, and enter the contest here!

With over 50 years of unparalleled service and food under its belt, Scoma’s continues to be an iconic seafood restaurant on Fisherman’s Wharf.

The Spritz team was thrilled to support TEL HI’s largest fundraising event for the 2nd year running at the 13th annual Taste of TEL HI. The highly anticipated event kicked off on Friday, May 8 at the iconic San Francisco City Hall. This year was especially noteworthy as the organization was celebrating 125 years of service to the San Francisco community.

The evening began with an elegant cocktail reception under the City Hall rotunda featuring menu previews from top chefs and some of the Bay Area best wines. Our team loved Twenty Five Lusk’s Truffled Mushroom Cheesecake and Scoma’s Crab Louis salad! Sponsors of the event also kept the crowd entertained: attendees could take a picture with Mayor Ed Lee’s wax figure from Madame Tussaud’s and had the chance to win a Celebrity Cruises modern luxury gift basket!

The live auctions, emceed by CBS Foodie Chap Liam Mayclem, took place during the seated dessert course. One of this year’s highly anticipated live auction packages included an exciting Celebrity Cruises European trip for two, which sold for $3,500! We were thrilled to play such an integral role in this year’s event and are looking forward to what 126 years brings!
