Accountant Job Location: Stockton, California Job Type: Temporary Pay Rate: $33-$39.18/hour Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:30am-5pm Description of Position: Do you have experience as an Accountant? Our client is looking for an experienced Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of the finance department. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and assisting the Director of Finance with reporting, audits, and special projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple accounting functions in a deadline-driven environment. Job Responsibilities: Oversee daily Accounts Payable activities, including invoice entry, weekly check runs, and annual 1099 filings Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies Prepare monthly journal entries (prepaids, payroll, benefits, fixed assets, accruals, revenue, reimbursements) Maintain lease accounting software and related schedules Analyze account variances and perform balance sheet reconciliations Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management and Board of Directors Prepare quarterly sales tax reports and assist with business property tax filings Support annual budget preparation, year-end audit, and tax schedules Description of Company: You will be supporting a well-established thrift business in Stockton, California.
