Job Details
REPORTS TO: VP Operations
POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing quality personnel, customer and supplier interface, and maintaining compliance with all AS9100, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage a small to medium team of engineers and quality personnel
Maintain the Capewell Quality efforts and personnel
Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and AS9100 Aerospace Standard
Evaluate production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements
Develop and assure Quality Assurance Department budget is maintained
Manage internal auditing activities
Collaborate with management and senior staff across production departments, to draft acceptable quality standards and compliance procedures
Develop and implement quality standard testing and evaluation processes
Assess test results and approves recommended changes
Review quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, compliance, and relevance
Periodically report the status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies
Be accountable for Quality Program management and timely performance of Quality Assurance Department tasks
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in quality management roles with increasing responsibility
Significant experience may replace the education requirement
Affiliation with ASQ a plus
AS9102 experience and execution
Experience with dimensional inspection and supplier certification
Internal auditor experience
Experience with AS9100 rev. D
Expert level root cause and corrective action experience
Significant experience in collection of data and statistical process control
People management skills
Familiarity with government source inspection
FAA and/or Department of Defense experience
Experience with GD&T or IMTE
Experience with government contract reviews
