We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Automotive General Manager to lead our dealership operations and help us build upon our legacy of growth, customer satisfaction, and employee development.
Position Overview
The Automotive General Manager will oversee all aspects of dealership operations, including sales, service, parts, and finance. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with a strong track record in profitability, customer satisfaction, and team building. This role is critical in shaping the culture, strategy, and success of the dealership, while ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest standards of excellence.
Pay Scale
Salary: $6,000 $15,000/month. +
Bonus opportunities available based on department performance and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire department heads (sales, service, parts, finance) to promote teamwork, accountability, and a high-performance culture.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee daily dealership operations to meet or exceed business goals, including customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and cost management.
- Financial Management: Drive profitability through effective budget management, P&L oversight, and KPI monitoring.
- Customer Focus: Ensure exceptional customer experiences by setting and upholding high standards for service, responsiveness, and overall quality.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including California labor laws and automotive industry standards.
- Sales & Marketing Strategy: Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop effective campaigns that drive new and repeat business.
- Inventory & Vendor Relations: Manage inventory levels, parts supply, and vendor partnerships to support operational efficiency.
- Employee Training: Implement training and development programs that encourage professional growth and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in senior management within the automotive industry.
- Strong leadership abilities with a history of motivating and managing diverse teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of dealership operations (sales, service, parts, finance).
- Solid financial acumen, with P&L management and budgeting experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a positive workplace culture built on teamwork, longevity, and customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with California labor laws and compliance requirements.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Valid sales license.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Automotive Management, or a related field (preferred).
