Chaminade College Preparatory seeks a dynamic, innovative, and engaging Long Term Substitute Instrumental Music Instructor/Band Director to lead the instrumental music portion of the Fine Arts Department at our high school campus in West Hills, California starting December 8, 2025 to March 2, 2026 . The position is an integral partner in furthering Chaminade's mission to inspire students to "love, learn, and lead" through our Catholic and Marianist traditions of a living faith, academic excellence, and moral responsibility.

The position is responsible for classroom instrumental music instruction and for all instrumental performing groups including multiple bands, ensembles, Drum Line, Color Guard and various small ensembles. Successful candidates will have experience running programs with more than 100 students, parent organizations, student program travel coordination, and significant fiscal responsibilities.

At Chaminade our faculty enjoy being part of a team that is setting the standard in Catholic education. We are a 1:1 tablet school and faculty must be comfortable integrating technology into the classroom to enhance student learning.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required. A master's degree and/or teaching credential in the subject discipline is preferred. Prior high school teaching experience in a Catholic educational setting is strongly preferred.
