About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with a proven track record in senior marketing, particularly within the media or publishing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing marketing, circulation, and membership efforts, with a key focus on driving growth, retention, and engagement of the member and subscriber base. This pivotal role involves the development and execution of strategies to increase and retain the membership, managing single-copy sales, and implementing sophisticated subscription marketing and recurring revenue business models. The CMO will also be tasked with guiding brand-building and strategic positioning initiatives and ensuring clear, consistent, and compelling communication across all platforms. The ideal CMO for the company will possess a passion for public media and a strong commitment to its role in an informed democracy. Desired traits include a clear marketing and comms vision, excellent communication skills, and a high level of cultural competency with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The role requires a collaborative leader who can foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and who is adept at technology and mastering new tools.
