Job Description

The Clinical Informatics Specialist reports to the Associate CNIO and is directly responsible for supporting the integration of clinical informatics with system-wide technology strategies. This role is responsible for improving clinical operations and technology, supporting the implementation and optimization of electronic medical records (EMR) and other technology, ensuring ongoing content management for clinical workflows and documentation, and providing end user support. Essential Functions include interacting with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson; working with end users to utilize and improve clinical processes and help integrate technology solutions across the organization; assisting with the creation and maintenance of documentation and decision support tools to ensure consistency across the system; supporting the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of EMR systems and other technology, focusing on best practices and evidence-based workflows; providing input on linking practice guidelines and other evidence-based concepts to electronic records; fostering teamwork and collaboration, and taking on project leadership role as needed; staying up-to-date with industry best practices and the latest nursing informatics research; and performing other duties as assigned. Competencies required include knowledge of computer and database development, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, ability to think creatively and solve problems, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams. Minimum education and experience requirements are BSN required, MSN or Masters in relevant field preferred, 2+ years nursing experience required, previous informatics experience preferred, and RN License. Work shift is Workday Day (United States of America).
