Schedule: Full Time

Shift : M-F (8a – 5p) may need flexibility based on physicians/surgeons schedules. No On call or weekends.

Travel: about 25% -30% of the time

The role you’ll contribute:

The Clinical Research Supervisor Non-RN serves the AdventHealth Research Institute (AHRI) providing oversight of the conduct of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials in accordance with trial protocols, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and International Conference on Harmonization/Good Clinical Practices (ICH/GCP) guidelines. The Supervisor is able to function as a clinical study coordinator as needed and serves to train, mentor and develop the clinical study coordinators and research staff in the conduct of clinical research within the AdventHealth research enterprise at the institute level and may extend across multiple U.S. Division locations. Works closely with AHRI Managers and Leaders to facilitate the initiation through completion of clinical research studies in assigned areas. Provides day-to-day supervision and ongoing performance reviews of clinical research staff at the department level. · Performs a variety of supervisory duties including, but not limited to, leading the Talent Acquisition process of applicant review and selection, team development and manages performance management of research team members including positive discipline and Talent Care discussions.

· Supervises day-to-day activity of the clinical research team within their assigned area, including oversight of team’s productivity and maintenance of personnel and staffing schedules as affected by research protocols at any given time.

· Supervises the delivery and delivers safe care with regard for the dignity and respect for all patients/participants.

· Serves as a service line expert and resource for the research team when barriers arise during day-to-day operations.

· Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of clinical operations within their assigned area.

· Builds and maintains supportive relationships with each team member through rounding and frequently scheduled connections.

· Collaborates with operations manager, study intake, research services and external partners to foster a timely start up and smooth transition to assigned coordinator. This is inclusive, but not limited to, review of Medical Coverage Analysis, billing grids, and internal budgeting contribution for time and effort-based modeling. Ensures teams keep an open line of site for maintaining adequate inventory levels, ordering of approved equipment and supplies, maintenance of medical tools (biopsy needles, etc.) and clinical supply areas.

· Collaborates with AdventHealth Research Institute (AHRI)Operations Managers, Supervisors and Clinical Leaders within various inpatient and outpatient clinical settings to develop and implement processes that ensure workflow and scheduling are optimized for day-to-day operations.

· Under the direction of the Clinical Research Operations Manager, may develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or Work Instructions for the teams they supervise, and ensures clinical research operations teams follow AHRI processes and procedures.

· Manages the delivery of safe care with regard for the dignity and respect for all patients/participants.

· Provides guidance, inclusive of education, specialized training, and mentorship to promote growth for study team members, including those in new positions.

· Delivers effective and compliant clinical research study coordination as necessary, based on the needs of the department, including planning, organizing, and managing all activities related to clinical research protocols and execution of timelines, for industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials.

· Serves in a supportive role for the preceptorship of new team members, which would be inclusive of monitoring the progress of each new team member and providing open communication to the Operational Manager for workflow planning.

· Participates in internal and/or external training programs to maintain certification(s).

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

• Minimum qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Research, or related field and 2 years of experience in clinical research or

• Associates degree in Healthcare Administration, Research, or related field and 4 years of experience in clinical research or related field

o Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

• Preferred qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

o Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Research, or related field

o 5 years of clinical research experience with increasing people management responsibilities

o Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) (per the Association of Clinical Research

o Professionals (ACRP) or Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA)

o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

o Other certification as applicable to degree or program (i.e. medical assistant, medical technician, phlebotomy)

o If licensed, (such as LPN), maintain current active State of Florida license
