Overview:

The Director of Communications is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing an integrated communication strategy that supports the healthcare system's mission, vision, and values. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer (or similar executive), this position provides strategic counsel and execution across executive leadership team (ELT) communications, government relations, crisis communications, public relations, and internal messaging. The Director collaborates closely with senior leaders to shape and promote a unified brand narrative that reinforces the organization's position as a trusted community healthcare provider. This role ensures clear, timely, and consistent messaging to internal and external audiences, fostering transparency, trust, and engagement across stakeholders. 

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities: Establish and lead an internal communications plan in accordance with department strategy Complete internal audience analysis Introduce regular communications cadence based on audiences Develop relationships with partners across the organization, creating content funnel Drive ELT communications strategy and support Partner with ELT to develop thought leadership platforms Oversee alignment of ELT platforms and community/event presence Drive government relations strategy and support Establish and maintain positive government relations Drive crisis management strategy and support Establish and maintain a crisis communications plan as part of overall department strategy. Responsible for executing plan in crisis scenarios, including staff media training as needed Provide recommendations and updates to leadership as needed during crisis events Provide strategic oversight of media relations, storytelling and PR Manage relationships with media contacts as needed Facilitate challenging conversations as needed Storytelling Develop overarching narratives to support Beebe's position in the community and region Monitor public perception of Beebe and develop regular dashboards to report on metrics Drive HR-related communications strategy and support, working closely with the Internal Communications Coordinator Develop plan for community relations initiatives Manage materials to support physician liaison program Collaborating closely with the Senior Leader re: brand narrative Present dashboards, progress and reporting to ELT as needed 

Qualifications:

Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare or mission-driven communications. Proven success in executive communication, media relations, crisis management, and strategic messaging. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse stakeholders. Reporting Structure. This position reports directly to the Chief Strategy Officer. Work Environment: Position may require travel and occasional work outside regular business hours to support project and portfolio needs. Combination of on-site project visits, office-based planning, and remote coordination as appropriate. 

Education:

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (master's strongly preferred).

Entry: USD $121,472.00/Yr. Max: USD $194,355.20/Yr.
