Construction Inspector - Electrical Urban Engineers of New York, DPC. is seeking qualified individuals to join the Transit CM Department as an Electrical Construction Inspector. This position will be responsible for electrical inspections for transit/rail projects in New Jersey.
Responsibilities - Responsible for transit electrical work, including traction power substations, electrical distribution, communications systems, and other duties as assigned.
- Confirm electrical components are installed correctly and conform to railroad rules and regulations.
- Review electrical submittals for conformity to the applicable codes and standards.
- Confirm electrical components are installed correctly and conform to applicable rules and regulations.
- Responsible for reviewing facility electrical work, including:
- electrical distribution
- communications systems
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree and/or Electrician License is preferred.
- Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum 2 years of transit construction experience inspecting electrical power distribution and communications systems installations varying in size and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift). Transit construction experience is desirable.
- A Valid Driver's license is required.
- Possible night and weekend shift work, ability to stay late or come in early as needed.
- Trained in OSHA 10-hour construction safety.
- Excellent oral and interpersonal skills
