Job Details The Cost Accountant will take ownership of inventory and fixed asset accounting functions while partnering closely with plant operations and leadership. This is a hands-on, onsite role ideal for someone who enjoys diving into cost analysis, improving processes, and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze monthly costing and inventory reports
- Reconcile inventory accounts and maintain accuracy of standard costs
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve inventory levels and reduce costs
- Support physical inventory counts and BOM accuracy
- Manage fixed asset ledgers, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation
- Identify trends and help drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with inventory reserve analysis and potential write-offs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Understanding of GAAP, particularly as it relates to inventory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAGE a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams
