As a Database Administrator, you'll be an essential part of our Database team, contributing to the success of our organization. Location: Jackson, MS Role and Responsibilities : The Database Administrator maintains the corporate database management systems and ensures the integrity and security of all corporate databases. * The career level will be aligned with the candidate's experience and qualifications Your responsibilities will include : Maintain all databases; ensure performance, recoverability and security. Ensure data standards according to database best practices. Maintain security within all of the Database environments. Use database utilities to administer database. Monitor, diagnose, and correct problems with the database. Make suggestions for improvements to programs for better database performance as needed. Supply additional technical support for the database and to others that require support. Assist in design reviews before, during and after a database system is created. Evaluate and install third party database software to determine its performance, functionality and usefulness in the SFB environments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a computer or related field or combination of education and experience Entry level experience in SQL and SQL tuning Strong analytical skills Proficient in relational database design and implementation Must understand the basic concepts of a database, especially database design and structure Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to function effectively in the workplace as exhibited through ones integrity, courage to act and communication skills. Ability work with others effectively as exhibited through one's respect for people and commitment to teamwork. Ability to meet organizational goals and customer expectations as exhibited through one's accountability for results, commitment to service and initiative.
