TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Personal Information We Collect Your Privacy Choices What We'll Bring The Director will develop, support, administer, and assist with the implementation of TransUnion’s global security risk management strategy and associated security programs. This position will help shape the growth and development of an enterprise-wide program to safeguard the company’s critical assets – employees, facilities, operations, and reputation – across the world. This role will act as the liaison between global corporate security, regional management, and external organizations for support and protection of all assets. An additional key component of the role involves performing safety-sensitive job functions, including developing global, regional, and local threat intelligence to mitigate events and protect executives and associates worldwide, which includes frequent domestic and international travel. Experience conducting internal and external corporate investigations, analyzing, and clearly reporting findings is essential. The candidate must approach tasks strategically, possess business acumen, project management skills, and executive presence to build relationships and influence positively. Strong collaboration skills, likely driven by experience working with diverse teams, are required. A background in the public and/or private sector with a solid network of resources will be advantageous. Finally, recent experience in building, operating, and leading a global operation center (GSOC) is a must-have skill for this role. What You'll Bring 10+ years of experience in safety/security/law enforcement leadership in government, corporate, or private sectors. Military background in tactics, law enforcement, and/or intelligence programs. Proven leadership in managing small to medium-sized teams. A strong network of corporate and government security contacts and intelligence resources, including law enforcement agencies like FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, Secret Service, State Department, and terrorism task forces. Advanced industry knowledge or recognized certifications in security management. Leadership experience in crisis management and business continuity programs. Ability to engage effectively with senior and executive leadership, building stakeholder relationships. Experience building diverse teams and promoting workplace diversity. Demonstrated expertise in executive protection, investigations, guard force management, physical security, threat management, and global intelligence. Ability to prepare and present security reports and findings to senior leadership. First aid or rescue skills in emergencies. Eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. Strategic, autonomous, and collaborative operational capabilities. Experience with Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). Financial management skills for small to medium budgets. Proficiency in writing, editing, and updating security policies. Willingness to perform duties as assigned by the Vice President of Global Security. Fitness For Duty Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Quick and effective response to emergencies. Maintain alertness and sound decision-making under pressure. Handle stressful situations professionally. Periodic post-employment fitness evaluations may be conducted. Travel & In-Office Requirements Travel up to 40-50% domestically and internationally. Based in Chicago with in-office work required 5 days a week. Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and late nights. Preferred Qualifications Advanced security training or certifications (e.g., CPP, PCI, CFE). Experience collaborating with Facilities, Procurement, Information Security, HR, Business Continuity, and Legal teams. Armed Security Officer certification (ASO). Master’s degree in security, strategy, national security, or related fields. Retired LEO qualifications or HR 218 certification. Impact Address critical safety, security, and business issues across global regions. Develop and implement global security programs and strategies. Build relationships with local authorities and security agencies. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.
