Director of Golf
Golf course in North Olmsted, Ohio is looking for a Director of Golf.
Position Overview:
Lead all aspects of golf operations while also having the opportunity to shape adaptive golf programming and help build the next chapter of growth. This position will assist the in conducting both its Ohio Adaptive Open Championship and US Adaptive Open Qualifier. Qualified applicants will have experience in golf operations, clinics and individual lessons. Work closely with the CEO in the administration of the daily operations of The Turn, balancing their time between leading golf programming for members and overseeing the staff in handling daily tasks in the golf shop and nine-hole course operations.
Duties:
• Establish a strong working relationship with the CEO, serving as a thought partner and collaborating around both day-to-day operations and big picture vision and planning.
• Empower the team with the leadership they need to successfully conduct daily programming and golf operations.
• Collaborate with the CEO to develop and retain partnerships with local area hospitals and golf professionals to support and grow Turn membership.
• Spearhead the establishment of a robust volunteer program, including planning, recruiting, and overseeing the maintenance of volunteer records.
• Assist the team in coordinating presentations conducted for local area hospitals and affiliates.
• Manage clubhouse and golf course staff in conducting daily golf operations, including overseeing standard golf shop routine, merchandising and daily cash flow management.
• Lead a team of volunteers responsible for on-site member programming.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Preferred Qualifications:
PGA member in good standing, preferred.
College degree or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in golf operations.
Highly motivated with a passion for The Turn’s mission and vision, described in the overview section.
“Can-do” attitude, with a dynamic personality.
Exceptional leadership, communication, fiscal management, and managerial skills.
Excellent communication skills, public relations and customer service-oriented mindset.
Competent playing ability and must be comfortable teaching in a group setting.
Exceptionally detail oriented with ability to multi-task.
Strong golf IQ, with experience teaching golfers of all levels and age groups.
Proven ability to develop and manage teams with diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office and GolfNow).
Willingness to be flexible, to adapt and learn new techniques and approaches.
Compensation:
$60,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year.
