Join us in creating a cooler, cleaner planet for future generations. We are seeking a Director of Manufacturing , reporting directly to the VP of Engineering. This onsite position is based at our Houston, TX offices. About You You are an experienced manufacturing engineer passionate about developing innovative, sustainable technologies. You thrive in high-stakes environments, applying physics and engineering principles to create revolutionary solutions. You are proactive, capable of taking projects from concept to implementation, and excel at rapid iteration and delivering reliable designs. You enjoy solving complex, cross-disciplinary challenges and collaborating with experts in mechanical design, thermal engineering, and materials science. Job Responsibilities Lead product development from concept to design, emphasizing design for manufacturability (DFM). Translate stakeholder requirements into clear project objectives, managing scope effectively. Provide expertise in decision-making regarding in-house manufacturing versus contracted production. Ensure production systems meet volume, cost, and quality targets. Lead prototype development and manage milestones for successful production. Perform system and component design for seamless manufacturing integration. Utilize rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing for functional prototypes. Scale manufacturing processes in collaboration with partners. Develop and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, and validation protocols. Conduct PFMEA, time studies, and implement control plans to enhance process stability. Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate components into final products. Develop test plans and validation procedures to meet standards and regulations. Engage with suppliers and external collaborators for innovative solutions. Maintain documentation for quality certifications and compliance. Create work instructions, maintenance programs, and production documentation. Oversee installation, validation, and release of manufacturing equipment. Drive hardware testing and production system improvements for scalability. Qualifications B.S., M.S., or PhD in mechanical, industrial, aerospace engineering, or related fields. At least 10 years of experience in HVAC, automotive manufacturing, or related sectors. Experience in establishing new factory operations, including supply chain management. Deep knowledge of mechanical engineering, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles. Proficient in design for manufacturing (DFM). CAD software experience (SolidWorks preferred). Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Lean certification. Experience improving operational metrics like yield, uptime, cycle time, and OEE. Knowledge of quality tools and standards (PFMEA, control plans, SPC, ISO, IATF). Project management experience. Industrial design experience is a plus. Working knowledge of MATLAB or Python and MS Excel. Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
