We are seeking candidates with 2-5 years of practical Python development experience, a background in supporting cross-functional or financial systems. Proficiency in Python is essential, along with a solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles, including testing, debugging, and version control. Candidates should have basic knowledge of SQL and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to document processes are critical, as well as excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Familiarity with actuarial, risk, or insurance platforms is preferred, and exposure to C or high-performance computing environments would be a plus. An eagerness to learn C or similar tools and the capacity to support hybrid environments and agile teams is also desired.

Responsibilities:

As a Junior Developer, I will rely on you to enhance and develop platform features utilizing Python. Youll be tasked with constructing data pipelines and integration workflows for actuarial modeling, specifically supporting the Actuary team and IT data group. Your role will include collaborating on performance optimization to ensure application reliability while participating in testing, validation, and solution deployment. Moreover, you will assist in the development of actuarial models by providing necessary data and tools, and enabling model analytics and workflow automation in coordination with valuation teams.

Company:

This position is located in New York, NY, with a hybrid work schedule of three days onsite each week. Its a contract role lasting 12 months, with a pay rate of $40.27 per hour during standard business hours. This role may be eligible for benefits such as health coverage, a 401(k), and paid sick leave, depending on contract specifics and local qualifications.
