Base pay range $50,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking French Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year at private and independent schools in Washington DC and nationwide. French Teacher Responsibilities Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students. Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods. Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension. Teaching students about French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions. Organizing fun events where students can showcase their French language skills. Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior. Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education. French Teacher Requirements Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master’s degree preferred. Proven written and verbal proficiency in French. 2-3 years of previous teaching experience. No teaching license or credential is required. Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills. Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community. Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities. Additional Desired Qualities Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
