Pulmonary Clinical Specialist

Are you a college graduate considering a future career as a healthcare provider (MD, PA, NP)? This role is an excellent opportunity for a pre-medical, pre-PA student seeking meaningful, hands-on clinical and administrative experience during their gap year prior to medical/PA school. The Pulmonary Clinical Specialist will work directly with patients and providers, gaining exposure to real-world medical practice.

We are hiring for a full-time non remote position in our Medical Practice located in the North Shore suburbs. You will be working directly with a well-respected board certified Pediatric Pulmonologist. The position requires a smart, intelligent, responsible and hardworking individual. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Obtaining patients medical histories
• Advocating for patients’ medical needs as required with outside entities
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Assist the sole pediatric pulmonologist with patient examinations
• Working cooperatively with colleagues
• Preparing and maintaining patient exam rooms
• Calling in or faxing new prescriptions to pharmacies and authorizing refill requests (under the supervision of the physician)
• Completing insurance documents and communicating with insurance companies in connection with patient needs
• Anticipates needs of patients prior to office visits
• Monitors patient activity in terms of practice activity, appointment needs

Qualifications:

• Must have undergraduate degree in the Sciences
• Candidates who are pre-Med or pre-PA excel at our practice
• Previous experience in a medical setting highly valued
