Job Description

Are you an experienced Housekeeping Manager and would love to work for a golf resort? We have the opportunity for you at the beautiful Pacific Palms Resort in City of Industry. Pacific Palms Resort is the only full-service luxury golf and conference resort in Los Angeles County. To assist in managing and directing of all Housekeeping and Laundry functions. To participate in quality assurance for Housekeeping department and department cost control measures. To provide support to the executive Housekeeper in all areas of the Housekeeping Operation. To ensure Pacific Palms Resort standards are met in all areas by monitoring quality assurance, and consistently setting a good example. To oversee the outside contractor for interior night cleaners and contractor for outside laundry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides courteous, personalized, attentive, sincere, consistent Guest Service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, request & Complaints using Guest Service Skills. exhibiting hospitality while striving to exceed Guest expectations.
  • Resolves difficult or unusual problems arising with Guests, while maintaining good Guest relationships, demonstrating outstanding hospitality through the corrective action taken.
  • Maintains open and clear communication with all departments and guests to ensure consistent service.
  • Identify ways of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our service to guests by actively participating in the Pacific Palms Resort Vision Principles program.
  • Assist Executive Housekeeper with all of the following departmental functions and concerns: maintain turnover to an acceptable level, maintain close communication and interaction with Front Desk and Engineering, uniform control and issuance, administer Lost and Found key control, guest requests, monthly meetings, quality assurance in public space and guest rooms, linen and supply inventories, monitor Housekeeping inventories to ensure adequate levels are maintained, assist with scheduling and payroll cost controls.
  • Participates in energy conservation efforts.
  • Respects Resort property and work areas by keeping them clean, well maintained, stocked, and properly stored. Eliminates waste of supplies.
  • Participates in Walk-Through with the Director of Rooms and Chief Engineer.
  • Assists in maintaining Pacific Palms Resort standards of cleanliness and a consistent guest experience.
  • Assists in maintaining a highly motivated and trained staff that continually strives for excellence, in service and cleanliness.
  • Must be able to be “hands on” and able to perform the essential functions of each position in Housekeeping.
  • Able to work as needed including weekends and holidays.
  • Assist in training the trainers and staff.
  • Report any maintenance need observed throughout the Resort.
  • Maintains close coordination, communication, and interaction with the Front Office and other departments.
  • Ensures all guest requests are met within the prescribed time limit.
  • Assists Executive Housekeeper in all areas of Housekeeping management: cost controls, inventories, quality assurance inspections, staff supervision, systems and controls, loss prevention, safety, employee morale. Together with the Executive Housekeeper, ensure smooth operation of the Housekeeping Department.
  • Health club cost/productivity to include inventories and purchases.
  • Refreshment Center cost/productivity to include inventories and purchases.
  • Any and all reasonable requests of management.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 years Housekeeping management experience
  • Prior work experience in a hotel or resort required.
  • Excellent communication skills. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Ability to work well with others and able to multi task.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping process
  • Knowledge of cleaning supplies
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Knowledge of basic computer systems - Microsoft office
