YOUR ROLE

As an Engineering Intern, you will immerse yourself in the practical aspects of operational projects and programs, gaining hands-on experience by actively participating in and supporting engineering-related activities. A significant component of this internship involves Job Shadowing, where you will work closely with experienced Engineers and team members to observe their daily tasks, learn engineering best practices, and understand the intricacies of driving operational efficiency, ensuring customer satisfaction, and fostering continuous improvement in logistics and supply chain operations through engineering solutions. This role will provide you with practical experience in applying engineering principles, exposure to 3PL operations, and an introduction to automation systems and related technologies, all within the context of real-world projects and cross-functional team collaboration.

WHAT YOU WILL DO (as an Intern)

Engineering Project & Execution Support (with Job Shadowing)

  • Job Shadow Engineers in the development of project plans, focusing on the engineering aspects such as design, implementation, and technical specifications.
  • Actively participate in and shadow the monitoring of project progress, learning how to identify potential technical issues or roadblocks.
  • Observe and contribute to ensuring projects align with engineering standards, safety regulations, and company policies through job shadowing and mentorship.

Operational Technology & Automation Exposure (through Job Shadowing)

  • Job Shadow engineers involved in the implementation and maintenance of automation systems, understanding their functionality and impact on operational efficiency.
  • Observe and learn about the integration of different technologies within the logistics and supply chain environment through direct job shadowing.
  • Participate in and shadow discussions related to the evaluation and potential adoption of new engineering technologies.

Process Improvement & Analysis (with active observation)

  • Assist in identifying and documenting process improvement opportunities from an engineering perspective by job shadowing operational teams and analyzing current workflows.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to learn about warehouse, inventory, and transportation management, focusing on the underlying engineering principles and technologies.
  • Help track performance against key metrics by shadowing data analysis and the identification of areas for improvement through engineering interventions.

Technical Documentation & Support (through exposure)

  • Gain exposure to technical documentation related to projects and systems by job shadowing document creation and review processes.
  • Assist in gathering data and information for technical reports and analyses under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Observe the application of engineering principles in troubleshooting and providing technical support.

Team Collaboration & Learning (with direct mentorship)

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support project goals, focusing on the engineering contributions and actively participating in technical discussions.
  • Learn from and receive direct mentorship from engineering team members through dedicated job shadowing and guidance.
  • Assist with technical resource allocation and coordination as needed, gaining practical experience through observation and support.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Software) or a related technical field.
  • Strong interest in gaining hands-on engineering experience within logistics, supply chain, or automation through job shadowing.
  • A basic understanding of or strong desire to learn about 3PL operations and automation systems from an engineering perspective through direct observation and participation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Eagerness to learn about warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) from a technical and engineering standpoint through job shadowing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by the insights gained from job shadowing engineering activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with different teams, further developed through job shadowing and direct interaction on technical matters.
  • A basic understanding of or willingness to learn about the technical aspects of budgeting and cost analysis related to engineering projects through observation and mentorship.
  • Technical aptitude with an interest in continuous improvement and problem-solving through the application of engineering principles, enhanced by real-world job shadowing experiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with a willingness to apply these skills in a practical engineering setting.
  • Adaptability and a strong desire to learn and adjust to changing project needs and technical challenges through active participation and job shadowing.

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

We are a company in full mutation, so you will be able to take part in innovative and challenging projects. You will have support to perform on your job by our internal teams with specific programs. Immersion within our company will therefore be complete and will allow you to grow with us.

We are looking for an intern who can start from summer 2025 and is available for a minimum of 10-12 weeks. The number of hours is negotiable (we prefer 32-40 hours per week). You will have the possibility to work from home, but occasionally will be required to work from the office.
