Position Summary 

As a Junior DevOps Engineer at Connectbase, you will support the development and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. Reporting to the Manager of Platform Engineering, you will collaborate with senior engineers to ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our systems. Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist in developing and maintaining deployment automation to support cloud environments in Azure. 

  • Support the migration and testing of Azure environments and integrations under the guidance of senior team members. 

  • Help create and manage scripts or templates to automate routine developer and operations tasks. 

  • Contribute to the design and development of systems using microservice architecture, focusing on infrastructure setup and operational requirements. 

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of automated release tools to facilitate continuous integration and deployment processes. 

  • Monitor system performance in a cloud-based environment, assisting in identifying bottlenecks and optimizing resource usage. 

  • Support the integration of security products and processes into existing and new systems and infrastructure. 

  • Assist in setting up multi-level network environments using Azure. 

  • Help provision cloud resources to support applications, ensuring cost-effective usage. 

  • Contribute to building and maintaining scalable and performant production infrastructure to ensure system reliability. 

  • Collaborate with IT, Development, and Data teams on cloud management tasks. 

  • Assist production support teams with troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure issues. 

Working Skills & Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 

  • 0-2 years of hands-on experience with Azure Infrastructure and development solutions. 

  • Basic understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Experience or coursework in cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript. 

  • Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git. 

  • Basic knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker. 

  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies. 

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment. 

Beneficial Skills & Experience 

  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tools. 

  • Understanding of microservices and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes). 

  • Exposure to infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible. 

  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including VPNs, DNS, and load balancing. 

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools. (e.g. Datadog, Splunk) 

  • Interest in the Telecom industry.
