Exalt Health is thrilled to announce the commencement of our recruitment process for the brand-new Exalt Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Wildwood, Florida!

Exalt Health, an acute rehabilitation hospital, provides an intensive rehabilitation program, and admitted patients must be able to tolerate three hours of intense rehabilitation services per day. Focused on caring for patients with complex rehabilitative needs such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, head trauma, medically debilitation conditions, neurological disorders, cardio-pulmonary amputations, orthopedic injuries, and multiple major traumas.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, comfortable, and functional environment within our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. This position requires a wide range of skills in maintaining the building's infrastructure, performing repairs, and upholding a high standard of cleanliness throughout all areas of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on equipment and systems, including:
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Medical gas systems (if applicable)
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair a variety of issues related to:
  • Carpentry (walls, doors, fixtures)
  • Basic plumbing (leaks, clogs)
  • Electrical wiring and fixtures
  • Painting and drywall repair
  • General building maintenance
  • Equipment Support: Assist with installation, maintenance, and safe operation of specialized medical or rehabilitation equipment.
  • Work Order Management: Respond promptly to work orders, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records of completed work.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all hospital safety regulations, infection control protocols, and ensure compliance with relevant building codes.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with ordering and maintaining an appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other members of the facilities team, clinical staff, and leadership as needed.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in general maintenance, preferably within a healthcare or similarly regulated setting.
  • Experience working in a hospital or rehabilitation setting is a plus.
  • Proven technical proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical schematics.
  • Familiarity with using power tools and common maintenance equipment.
