Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a full-time Management Consultant  to join our National Business Advisory practice! This flexible hybrid role will be based in our Los Angeles, California office. 

The Management Consultant will work independently as well as on teams staffed with management consultants, IT professionals, engineers, and scientists from various backgrounds, locations, specialties, and experience levels. Some tasks, such as addressing requests for assistance, require a combination of technical and non-technical skills. In this position you will need a strong intellect, the ability to articulate complex ideas persuasively and a talent for establishing and solidifying relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Role accountabilities:

This role will be responsible for technical delivery of information technology projects for the water and wastewater utility industry, while working with senior consultants and client staff to perform business process/work method assessments, conduct project research/data collection, perform analyses, and generate reports.

Other responsibilities include: 



  • Lead Data Warehouse design, ETL architecture design, security profile management, data share design and other data architecture applications for client systems. 


  • Lead integration efforts for existing enterprise systems and perform analyses on system architecture and performance. 


  • Perform data analyses on large utility datasets such as: GIS (Geographic Information System), computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), condition inspection databases, capacity assessment/hydraulic modeling, etc.


  • Manage technology implementations for enterprise utility systems such as GIS (Geographic Information System), computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), condition inspection databases, capacity assessment/hydraulic modeling, etc.


  • Increase productivity of the team by developing automated applications and coordinating information requirements, while leading project teams on execution.


  • Strong analytical, communication and team management skills.


  • Perform services on-site or off-site to support client staff performing their day-to-day activities such as planning/scheduling, condition assessment, capacity assessment, contractor management, etc.


  • Develop and review technical reports and presentations for projects.


  • Design and implement analytics and dashboard platforms.


  • Some travel (up to 25%) is required for project site visits, client meetings, general planning purposes and/or other consulting related needs. 


  • Assist in the creation of Strategic Business Plans and Information Technology Plans that enable business transformation for our national utility clients. 

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

5 years of consulting experience with an environmental engineering or management consulting firm or equivalent experience with a municipal utility are required.

B.S. in Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related discipline. 

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 3 to 5 years of related Data Warehouse, ETL, application integration design and development experience with Microsoft Azure SQL database, data factory, storage, app service, synapse analytics, data lake or other related experience.

Industry certifications in one or more of the following: Professional Engineer (PE), IAM, PMI PMP/ACP, CSM. 

Experience with Azure DevOps (or similar tools) in user, project, repo, wiki management. Can observe and improve current process.

Microsoft Certifications in any of the following are a plus: Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Scientist, Azure Solution Architect, Power Platform App Maker, Power Platform Developer, Power Platform Solution Architect, and Power Bi Data Analyst. 

Broad understanding of the Water Industry.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $78,415 - $129,385/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
