Join Our Team as a Night Shift Pharmacist at UPMC St. Margaret!

UPMC St. Margaret is hiring a full-time Night Shift Pharmacist to support our Inpatient Pharmacy. This position will work 7 shifts on during the night shift (8:45 PM -07:00 AM), and 7 shifts off. The 7-day stretch starts and ends on Wednesday. Holidays are worked if they fall during the scheduled work week. You will have two weekends off per month. On-site parking available.

The Pharmacist is a valued step in UPMC Pharmacy Career Ladder. The final candidate will be placed in the appropriate title and pay rate depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities:
\n
\n - Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient treatment.
\n - Identify and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
\n - Maintain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy.
\n - Review and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications.
\n - Organize daily operations and supervise pharmacy technicians, aides, interns, and other personnel.
\n - Adhere to regulatory requirements, professional standards, and hospital quality management policies.
\n - Communicate with physicians and nurses to clarify unclear orders.
\n - Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
\n - Utilize computer systems and technologies in pharmaceutical care.
\n - Fill prescription orders in accordance with regulations.
\n - Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using an aseptic technique.
\n - Core specialized and site-specific duties can be added as needed.

Pharmacist Specialist:
\n
\n - Starting rate $52.08
\n - Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
\n - B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
\n - Required: Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state
\n - Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a specialized area of pharmacy operations/services required
\n - Relevant training/certification in a specialized area of pharmacy operations/services preferred*
\n - Pharmacist specialists support pharmacy operations in specialized roles.
\n - Current pharmacist specialist positions include but are not limited to informatics, IT, inventory, research, medication safety, regulatory, quality, and medication therapy management

Pharmacist requirements:
\n
\n - Starting rate $49.54
\n - Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
\n - B.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
\n - Required: Current licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing state
\n - Entry Level – no previous experience required; pharmacist experience preferred.
