MAHEC is now accepting applications for experienced Pharmacy Technicians to support increasing business need in partnership with the Patient Access Center. This full-time, benefits-eligible role will be based at MAHEC's Community Pharmacy at Biltmore Campus and will support with growing patient pharmacy needs and call volume from MAHEC's Psychiatry, Dental, and OB/GYN Centers. At all levels, Pharmacy Technicians work collaboratively as an active team member of the interdisciplinary team to provide patient centered care across the continuum. In this role, the goals include providing an excellent patient experience, high quality outcomes, and improved productivity for the team. Specific responsibilities include managing various pharmacy workflows and systems including dispensing, pharmacy information systems, and inventory management; maintaining medication storage and security; managing medication recalls and backorders; connecting patients to medication assistance resources including management of patient assistance program applications through pharmaceutical manufacturers; collaborating with the prior authorizations team; assisting pharmacists and other clinicians with medication histories; performing medication refills using a standardized protocol; and supporting learners in the pharmacy department. Key competencies include communication skills, decision making, healthcare knowledge, interpersonal skills, organizational values, and problem solving. Required skills include excellent Microsoft Office skills and preferred Spanish speaking skills. Physical demands involve light to moderate energy level with lifting and carrying 25-35 lbs and pushing/pulling 50-100 lbs frequently during the workday. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license, and two years of pharmacy or clinical experience with advanced skillset in clinical care or retail operations. Preferred qualifications include graduation from a pharmacy technician training program. Regular attendance on-site is essential with possible work from home opportunities for qualified applicants. Typical business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 hours per week with flexible hours as needed. The position offers $23.32/hour plus MAHEC Full Total Rewards Package including healthcare coverage, pet insurance, up to 30 days PTO, and more.
