Job Description Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Specialty: Support Services - Outpatient Laboratory

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 9:45 AM - 6:15 PM, Monday to Friday. No holidays or weekends.

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: At least one year of experience as a Phlebotomist is required. Experience with straight needles and taking 30-50 tubes is necessary.

License: A valid, unrestricted driver's license from the applicable state and the ability to be insured by an insurance carrier are required.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.

Must-Have: - High volume experience with patient interaction - Comfortable with frequent walking and use of stairs - Ability to draw transplant patients

Job Description:

- Perform routine laboratory activities, including patient receiving and venipuncture. - Conduct computer data entry and other related duties, including lab clinical functions. - Manage high patient volume, seeing over 300 patients in a day. - Utilize skills in drawing blood using straight needles accurately and efficiently. - Support transplant patient care through specialized phlebotomy techniques. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of laboratory activities. - Demonstrate proficiency in using computer systems for data entry. Favors previous computer experience. - Preferred completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomy training program. - Engage in continuous walking and using stairs as part of the job's physical requirements.
