Job Title: Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
Location: Portland, OR
Schedule: Monday -Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm with Rotational Saturdays
Pay Rate Ranges : $20.00 - $24.00
Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) who serves as the face of our organization, providing exceptional service to patients visiting for routine health checks or critical diagnostic needs.
The PSR I is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment. This role requires a balance of strong technical skills and a compassionate, customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities:
Collects blood specimens from patients (including pediatric and geriatric) using skillful, safe, and accurate techniquesExplains procedures to patients and creates a calm, professional environment
Verifies patient/donor identity and ensures accurate labeling and documentation
Processes specimens for clinical and forensic testing per established protocols
Maintains a clean, safe, and professional workspace
Accurately completes all necessary records and documentation
Demonstrates commitment to quality, confidentiality, and positive representation of the organization
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent requiredPhlebotomy certification preferred (Required in CA, NV, and WA)
Medical training (e.g., Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience (1+ year preferred)
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
Previous customer service experience preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed
