Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Intensivist to the Medicine - Pulmonary/Critical Care group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Harlem Hospital is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually.

The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Responsibilities

  • Major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in NYC
  • Academically oriented, clinically adept Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician to join its staff full time.
  • Supports a very robust IM residency training program and serves as a major clinical site for Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
  • PCCM includes all aspects of pulmonary medicine, critical care, and out-patient pulmonary.

Qualifications

  • Board certified/eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $214,670* (board eligible); $220,054* (board certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $331,657** (board eligible) and $337,579** (board certified) , which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
