Safety & Security Officer

Job Type: Full-Time

What You’ll Do

• Keep our campus safe by monitoring facilities, people, and property

• Patrol assigned areas (on foot or by vehicle) to identify hazards, prevent incidents, and ensure compliance with policies

• Respond calmly and professionally to emergencies, incidents, or policy violations

• Write clear, detailed reports on daily activities and observations

• Assist in medical, fire, or behavioral emergencies with confidence and care

• Manage access points by checking IDs and credentials

• Support safety drills, training sessions, and emergency preparedness efforts

• Collaborate with staff across departments to maintain a secure, respectful environment

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 2+ years in security, law enforcement, military, or public safety

• Education: High school diploma or GED

• Licenses: Valid driver’s license and security guard license/certification (as required)

• Skills: Strong observation, quick decision-making, and the ability to stay calm under pressure

• Requirements: Must pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Extras

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Experience working with youth or in educational/residential settings

• Knowledge of safety regulations and de-escalation techniques

• Bilingual skills (a plus, but not required)

Schedule

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• On-call or emergency response duties as needed
