Do you have a strong sense of duty and a passion for school safety? Join our team as a  School Security Officer (CSSO) in the Jonesboro School District. This vital position is dedicated to protecting the lives of students and staff in critical situations while ensuring a safe and orderly environment.

Responsibilities:

• Intervene and neutralize active threat situations (including active shooters) on school campuses.
• Respond to emergencies and critical incidents.
• Build positive relationships with school staff, students, and parents.
• Support the execution of safety drills and lockdown procedures.
• Monitor and enforce school security protocols.
• Report and document incidents and security deficiencies.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Education:  High School Diploma or GED. Training in law enforcement, military, or security (preferred).
• Experience (preferred but not required):  Military, law enforcement, corrections, private security, or emergency response backgrounds.
• Skills:  Proficiency with firearms, tactical protocols, effective communication, incident reporting, and the physical ability to be on foot indoors and outdoors for extended periods.
• Language:  Fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Minimum Age:  21 years old.

Other Requirements:

• Must pass a drug test, psychological evaluation, and background check.
• Must own (or be willing to purchase) a firearm, duty belt (Level 3 retention holster), and five magazines.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
