Special Education Teacher Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Special Education
State Certification in Special Education (Maine certification required)
Compassion, patience, and kindness towards students
Bachelor's Degree in Education
Bilingual and monolingual candidates are both encouraged to apply

Position Details:

Part-Time: 5 days per week, 2-3 hours per day
8th-grade caseload

Job Description:

As a remote Special Education Teacher, you will follow the same framework and responsibilities as in-person instructors, using videoconferencing technology to provide high-quality instruction. Special Education students, in particular, can thrive with our engaging and interactive online model. IEPs are conducted virtually, making it easier for students, parents, administrators, and service providers to collaborate seamlessly.

We provide comprehensive training to ensure student progress continues uninterrupted.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and identify the individual needs of each student to foster a supportive, inspiring learning environment
Prepare and deliver lessons, monitor student progress, and provide timely feedback
Collaborate with the Class Teacher and Lead Teacher to ensure effective educational delivery
Regularly update parents on their child's progress and provide recommendations for continued learning at home
Utilize specialized tools and resources to make lessons engaging and effective for all students
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 50,000.00 66,000.00 Per Year
