**What you will do**

Amgen Inflammation Research Team is seeking a **Scientist** to conduct in vitro and preclinical studies to support discovering and validating new targets related to autoimmune diseases. In this vital role, you will explore new research areas, innovate new technologies, act as an integral member of our discovery research team, collaborate with scientists in multi-functional areas at Amgen, and contribute to Amgens drug development pipeline and publications, and patents. You will perform in vitro cell-based assays and in vivo studies that provide preclinical evidence for a new and exciting modality targeting inflammatory pathways associated with autoimmunity disorders **.**
**Position Responsibilities:**
Enable the discovery, validation, and mechanistic understanding of signaling pathways to be further translated into a new treatment for autoimmune diseases.
+ This is a hands-on, lab-based position where you will design, perform, and analyze in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo experiments to validate biological and therapeutic hypotheses.
+ Elucidate mechanisms of action of tool molecules.
+ Collaborate with team members within and outside of the department to design, conduct, and analyze in vitro and ex vivo studies.
+ Contribute to technology development by proposing and evaluating models and new experimental approaches.
+ Present data in department and team meetings
+ Contribute to external presentations, including posters and manuscripts

**Basic Qualifications:**
Doctorate degree
Or
Masters degree and 2 years Immunology and/or Inflammation experience
Or
Bachelors degree and 4 years of Immunology and/or Inflammation experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with mouse models.
+ Experience with cell culture and cell-based assays.
+ Experience with molecular biology (CRISPR is highly desired)
+ Experience with multi-panel flow cytometry
+ Demonstrated independence in critical thinking and scientific achievement, such as through significant contributions to manuscripts or poster presentations. (First author publication is a differential)
+ Knowledge of immunology and signaling pathways
+ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results to meet timelines
