Overview

We are seeking an experienced SEO to lead our SEO department and drive our organic search strategy. Relocation assistance available. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in an SEO Director role, with a strong emphasis on achieving measurable results in organic search performance. This position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of optimizing websites for search engines, improving rankings, and enhancing online visibility across various industries.

As an SEO Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our digital marketing efforts and ensuring that our online presence aligns with our overall business objectives. You will be responsible for developing innovative SEO strategies that leverage the latest industry trends and technologies, fostering collaboration among various teams to ensure a cohesive approach to search engine optimization. Your expertise will guide the team in executing tactical initiatives aimed at improving site authority, optimizing content, and enhancing user experience.

Additionally, you will be tasked with mentoring and developing a team of SEO professionals, ensuring they remain updated on industry best practices and emerging trends. Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, enabling the team to adapt quickly to changes in the SEO landscape. You will also engage with executive leadership to provide insights on performance and strategic direction, ultimately driving the company’s success in the digital realm.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and increase website traffic.
  • Lead and manage a team of SEO specialists, content editors, and developers to implement best practices and achieve departmental goals.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research and competitive analysis to inform content and optimization strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze SEO performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and Ahrefs, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content, marketing, and web development, to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into all digital initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, search engine algorithm changes, and emerging technologies to ensure ongoing optimization efforts are effective.
  • Optimize website structure, on-page content, and technical SEO to enhance user experience and increase conversion rates.
  • Manage relationships with external SEO vendors and agencies, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the SEO department.
  • Develop and present educational materials and workshops to raise SEO awareness across the organization.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior SEO role, with at least 2 years in a director-level position.
  • Expert knowledge of SEO best practices, tools, and analytics.
  • Mastery of on-page and off-page optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in technical SEO, including site architecture, indexing, and structured data.
  • Experience with content marketing strategies and their integration with SEO.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience using SEO analytics tools to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Have an overall passion for the SEO field and overall internet marketing realm
  • Strong background in web analytics, including expertise in Webmaster Tools
  • Seasoned creative thinker, strategic player, and able to identify and resolve issues
  • Self-motivated with an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Understanding of various digital marketing channels, for example, paid search, digital PR, web development, and social media, among others
  • Advanced analytical skills; capable of drawing insights from raw information and data acquired through field research
  • Thorough knowledge of the latest market trends and shifts, as well as projections for the future
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment

Additional Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale SEO projects with measurable results.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Certification in SEO or digital marketing (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Ads).
  • This is an in-office position.
