STM Associates has been retained by a coal mining company to find a CHIEF ENGINEER for the company's office located in RAVEN, VIRGINIA . Travel to the company's operations in McDowell County West Virginia will also be required.

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the mining engineering department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Represent company leadership in developing and executing a safety culture to support safe work performance.
• Develop, update, and implement practical mine plans which allow for orderly development and exploitation of economically mineable coal reserves.
• Coordinate all production and engineering activities which will include projections, ventilation, utilities (air, water, power), QA/QC, ground support engineering.
• Travel to other mining operations as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering or related degree or equivalent experience is required . The successful candidate must be a licensed PE and have over five years of mining engineering experience in both underground and surface mining operations.
