Job Title: Senior Staff Accountant
Compensation: $30 - $33/hour, depending on experience
Location: Visalia, CA

Job Details

The Senior Accountant will ensure complete and systematic accounting of receipts and disbursements in the organization by performing complex clerical and bookkeeping tasks and applying accepted procedures in preparing and maintaining accounting records.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial reports and accounting statements.
• Post journal entries to general ledger.
• Generate summary sheets for use by supervisor and auditor.
• Allocate expenditures to correct accounts according to GAAP and departmental procedures.
• Participate in annual budget preparation.
• Reconcile bank accounts.
• Process accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare bi-weekly invoices for Controller’s review.
• Reconcile accounts receivable aging list monthly.
• Verify and process employee reimbursements and mileage.
• Verify and process independent contractor payments.
• Maintain vendor contracts.
• Allocate payroll expenses and assist Payroll Coordinator.
• Ensure each school site meets minimum in-kind requirements.
• Prepare in-kind report and post journal entry quarterly.
• Prepare special reports for management and external agencies.
• Assist with training Staff Accountants in procedures and policies.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
• High School diploma and AA/AS required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Highly proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background, drug screening, and receive TB clearance.
