Our client is seeking a full time Licensed Surveyor to run their expanding survey operations in Hampton Roads, VA area. This client is a growing surveying company in the state of Virginia, currently operating in Richmond and the surrounding areas. They offer varied projects, remote work, generous truck/car allowance as well as competitive compensation .

As the Senior Surveyor you will help build and lead a small team that closely coordinates and distributes survey work for the week. Your team will consist of field and office staff responsible for production and quality control of surveys.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Managing delivery schedules to clients, assigning resources as you see fit
• Working via phone and in writing with crews to coordinate work efforts
• Training and mentoring survey crew personnel in the use of all equipment and procedures
• Communicating with the clients on behalf of the company
• Operating a Trimble Robotic total station to collect location data
• Creating Surveys using Carlson Survey
• Searching legal and survey records as needed to complete work
• Your time will be split between the field and the office.

Required Qualifications:

• Virginia Professional Surveyor Licensure in good standing
• Driver's License
• Survey types typically include boundary, topographic, mortgage, ALTA, construction staking and others.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prefer 3-5+ years of experience as a licensed professional surveyor
• Trimble Robotics, Trimble Access, and Carlson Survey

You will work within a 1-hour radius of the Hampton Roads area, so overnight travel is rare, and office work can be done from your home. We offer flexible work hours to qualified candidates.
