Sourcing & Originations Investment Associate
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid Remote/Office)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sourcing & Originations Investment Associate to join our dynamic private equity team. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a key part in identifying, evaluating, and managing exciting investment opportunities. You will work closely with senior leadership, contributing to the growth and success of both the firm and its portfolio companies. This position is based in downtown Houston with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.
What You'll Do:
As a Sourcing & Originations Investment Associate, you will:
- Assist in evaluating new platform and bolt-on investment opportunities through the firm's sourcing efforts.
- Review confidential information memorandums, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and provide recommendations for next steps on early-stage opportunities.
- Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial analysis, market research, competitive analysis, and risk assessments for potential investments.
- Collaborate with the Portfolio Operations team to ensure that bolt-on acquisitions align with long-term goals.
- Coordinate with brokers, third-party diligence providers, and internal subject matter experts on prospective deals.
- Prepare and review investment memorandums, deal bid letters, and other investment analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and update platform strategy memos, ensuring that acquisition goals align with investment opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with deal sources and service providers, contributing to our growing network of opportunities.
What You'll Bring:
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
- Strong academic background: A degree in finance, economics, or a related field with a record of academic achievement.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity, particularly in sourcing, originations, or mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a deep understanding of accounting, finance, and capital structures.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to confidently interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
- M&A and deal execution experience from a reputable investment bank or private equity firm.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience building Investment Committee Memorandums and platform thesis pitch decks.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
