Job Description:

As a Sr. Test Technician at Meyers Manx, you will play a pivotal role in the development of our dune buggies, focusing on the durability, reliability attribute and validation. Join our dynamic team to lead the charge in designing, engineering, and developing the next generation of Meyers Manx vehicles.

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Supporting onsite and remote testing activities via:
  • Gathering test logs and data for engineering diagnosis
  • Performing in-vehicle duplication or repeatability tests
  • Remote teardown, repair, and modification of vehicle components
  • Transporting vehicles, equipment, and tools between test sites
  • Up to 50% travel, domestic and international

  • Test vehicle commissioning and sustenance:
  • Executing general assembly end-of-line suitability tests
  • Performing test entry and exit roadworthiness evaluations
  • Modifying vehicle and components to coincide with specific test purposes
  • Ongoing maintenance, issue identification, part rework, and repair of test fleet

  • Commissioning and management of vehicle instrumentation systems:
  • Installation of sensors, wires, and sampling devices for low and high voltage systems, chassis, and major structural components
  • Manufacturing wiring, fixtures, and test rigs for vehicle and component tests
  • Troubleshooting and debugging in-vehicle data acquisition systems

Qualifications:

  • A.S. from an accredited technical college in Automotive Technology or equivalent combination of education and direct experience
  • 5+ years as an engineering or R&D technician in an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • Certification or equivalent in high voltage system repair and modification
  • Proficiency in AC and DC electrical fundamentals
  • Proficiency with hand tools, small parts manufacturing, and low voltage wiring
  • Experience and proficiency with vehicle network and ECU architecture
  • Experience with common electric vehicle engineering sensors and components; thermocouples, accelerometers, current/voltage measurement, and similar
  • Experience with automotive engineering test systems; dynamometers, test benches, and similar
  • Proving ground and on-road / on-track experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Valid US drivers license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, including domestic and international travel

Preferred Requirements:

  • ASE Certification
  • Class-C commercial license
  • 8+ years of experience in similar role within Automotive/Motorsport industry
  • Experience developing and validating off-road vehicles
  • Experience with Vector, ETAS, Peak, or Kvaser CAN and calibration tools
  • Experience with Dewesoft, Labview, dSPACE or similar vehicle or bench DAQ systems
