The Structural Welder position is a key part of our fabrication process where you will primarily be responsible for fitting steel pars, tacking, or welding parts to beams, columns, trusses, and other structural building components. Ben's Structural Fabrication takes pride in all our steel fabrication projects, our quality assurance, and our commitment to safety and most importantly, our people.

Essential Duties:

1. Review shop drawings and interpret them to determine weld requirements
2. Surface preparation prior to and after welding (sand, grind, wire brush, degrease, etc.)
3. Set up and operate welding equipment
4. Conduct GMAW-pulse (MIG) welding in the flat and horizontal positions, on mild steel components
5. Frequent lifting of 50-100 lbs
6. Frequent and safe use of overhead crane expected

Job Details:

Schedule has No Weekends!

Work Monday-Thursday, 6:00am to 4:15pm.

Occasional overtime is possible on Fridays from 6:00am-3:00pm.

Report directly to our shop in Waite Park, no on-site project welding required.

1. Proven welding skills in Experience in MIG welding of MIG-pulse experience
2. Must be able to pass a Horizontal (2G) weld qualification test
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting
4. Reliable, self-motivated, team-oriented, adept communication skills
5. Detail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality
6. A passion for the product, "feel-for-steel"
7. Ability to read prints containing dimensions, common weld symbols, and weld specifications
8. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

Compensation details: 24-28 Hourly Wage
