Job Description

TEMPORARY POSITION: The Community College of Vermont in Winooski is seeking an dependable person to assist in managing our Ceramics studio. Duties include kiln loading and firing of student work, pugging clay, glaze preparation, inventory and general cleaning. Previous clay experience preferred, but not required. Positive attitude, communication skills, a willingness to learn a must.

Hours/day are very flexible, but must align within building schedule: 4-6 hours per week, compensation is $16.00 per hour

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of ceramics studio practices

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Loading, firing, and unloading kiln (both bisque and glaze).
• Materials inventory.
• Glaze mixing and clay pugging.
• Cleaning ceramics/sculpture studio, and light cleaning in painting/drawing studios
• Other related duties as needed
