Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Monterey, California.

Position: LDRP RN (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum – Family Birthing Center)

Shift: 12-hr Nights (7p–7a)
Contract Length: 13 weeks 
Guaranteed Hours: 36/wk

   Requirements

• Experience:
  • 5+ years L&D experience (outside training)
  • 3–5 prior travel assignments (no first-time travelers)
  • Strong LDRP / Mother-Baby Couple Care experience (resume must show this — straight L&D only not accepted)
• Skills:
  • Must be able to circulate in the OR (scrubbing required for night shift)
  • Epic charting (must state last time used)
  • Titrate drips (mag, pitocin, insulin)
  • Confident running independently without midwives/midlevels
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (STABLE preferred)
• Other: Nicotine-free facility (drug screen includes nicotine)

Unit Details

• Avg: 105 births per month (~100 deliveries)
• 13 beds (L&D, Postpartum, Recovery combined)
• Level I birthing center (32 weeks+, twin deliveries; high-risk patients transferred out)
• OB hospitalist available most of the time; neonatologist on call within 30 min
• No nurse aides or surgical techs — travelers must be self-sufficient
• Patient population has high service expectations
• Epic used for charting; RNs read fetal monitor strips (no tele)

Schedule / Policies

• 12-hr shifts, 7p–7a, fill-in scheduling (no block scheduling)
• Weekends: must be available, often every other
• Holidays: expect to work 1–2
• Floating: L&D, postpartum, PACU (mother recovery only), mother-baby overflow; may also circulate in OR; may float as sitter if needed
• Orientation: 3 shifts
