JOB SUMMARY

Provides curriculum development, instructional design expertise, and training process support to FrontRunner Service Unit. Oversees curriculum management process. Assists Operations Management, Operations training, and Vehicle Maintenance training in implementing standardized curriculum, instructional development and management, training analytics, and training process compliance. Creates training content and delivery assessment for application in settings across the service unit, including E-Learning. Implements best practice instructional design methods to foster consistent training standards and effective learning for the student. Assists with administering Learning Management System (LMS). Create and implement scenario and training simulations to effectively prepare students for operating trains in various situations according to federal rules and mechanical best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelors degree in Education, Curriculum design, Instructional design, Communication, or closely related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years experience in content creation, including building Instructor/Student handbooks, Assessments, and E-Learning. Strong relationship-building abilities and influencing skills to pull people together around common goals. Preferred experience: Developing training standards; Knowledge of the ADDIE methodology or similar methods; and Coordinating training efforts within a decentralized environment.

Knowledge:

  • Expert knowledge of corporate training program design and implementation.
  • Knowledge and application of project management processes and group facilitation methodologies.

Skills:

  • Advanced process management and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, cross-section team-working, and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively, including with outside agencies, consultants, executive-level managers, and employees.
  • Skilled in computer use and the application of a variety of associated software, including:
  • Learning Management Systems, preferably in SumTotal
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Premier, Audition, Photoshop) or equivalent
  • Adobe Captivate or Articulate 360 authoring tools
  • TechSmith Camtasia
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software programs (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.) at the intermediate level.
  • Strong attention to detail and maintaining accurate training records.
