Duration 4+ months w2 Location Charlotte, NC | Austin, TX | San Diego, CA Top Skills 3+ years user experience research Service or process blueprinting Qualitative research experience Financial services experience (trust) – nice to have Description The Experience Design Research Team at LPL Financial seeks a UX Researcher to collaborate with product managers, XD designers, and researchers to deliver innovative solutions for advisors. Responsibilities Develop research plans, workflows, user task analysis, personas, journey/experience maps, process flows, and service blueprints. Lead user research through every product lifecycle stage: planning and running usability studies, analyzing data, conducting heuristic evaluations, facilitating workshops, and performing low to high fidelity tests. Present findings to cross‑functional teams and negotiate trade‑offs between business goals, technical challenges, and customer experience. Coordinate and take direction from the lead researcher on the assigned area of focus. Requirements Skilled in moderated interviews, unmoderated usability tests, surveys (Qualtrics), and foundational UX research methods. Manage end‑to‑end participant engagement—scheduling, communication, logistics—to align with research timelines and learning goals. Advanced Excel skills for analysis and representation via pivot charts. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 3+ years UX research & analysis experience, ideally in complex or regulated industries. 2+ years working on a project team while meeting timelines and managing competing priorities. Proven ability to navigate and manage complex, high‑stakes business relationships with discretion and professionalism. Core Competencies Communicate research insights in a clear, compelling, actionable manner. Strong strategic thinking skills and tactical execution. Excellent collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams. Hit the ground running, pausing to ask the right questions for strategic alignment. Preferences Experience with tools such as User Testing, Jira, Confluence, and Figma. Agile / pod structure experience. Financial services familiarity is a bonus. Cultivate strong cross‑functional partnerships aligning research objectives with business priorities. Location Preferences Austin, TX – fully remote (contract). Must be within 50 miles of the hub. Pay and Benefits Pay range: USD 25–35/hr. Eligibility for benefits may vary based on classification and tenure.
