Vacuum Truck Operator

We are looking for an experienced Vacuum Truck Operator with a Class A and tanker endorsement to join our team and help connect America. The Vacuum Truck Operator can operate a variety of equipment, used in installation/repair/maintenance activities associated with underground construction or utilities, in a safe and effective manner.

What youll do at VCI Construction... (essential functions)

• Safely operate vacuum excavation equipment, mounted to a large truck to uncover underground utilities in the field.
• Demonstrate proficiency in adhering to all Federal, State, Local and all company Health, Safety and Environmental rules and regulations.
• Safely operate tools and equipment such as a jackhammer, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, and hand tools.
• Set up and maintenance of traffic control in the field as instructed.
• Accurately and legibly complete required paperwork, including record keeping.
• Perform simple mathematics for purposes of record keeping.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with on-sight customer representatives to determine scope of work and customer expectations.
• Must work as a team to complete jobs safely and effectively.
• Take basic field measurements, as instructed.
• Maintain vehicles, vacuum excavation equipment, potholing equipment and worksites in a safe and clean condition.
• Safely operate/drive a company vehicle, with or without a trailer hooked-up.
• Communicate clearly and work cooperatively with coworkers in the field, Project Managers, and Leadership via telephone, text and email.
• Pre and post trip inspections.
• Work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Other duties as assigned.

Who VCI Construction is looking for (required skills for success)

• Driving Record must be acceptable, with CDL license in good standing.
• Class A Tanker Endorsement.
• Pass a drug test, DOT Physical and background check.
• Worker may be responsible for traveling to an assigned work site to perform vacuum excavation.
• Vacuum Truck Operator: 1 year Preferred.
• Commercial driving: 2 years Preferred.
• Current Medical Card.
• Reliable transportation.
• Smart Phone.
• Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, stand, climb, and repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs. and perform numerous tasks that require physical agility and manual dexterity as well as mental acuity throughout shift.
