About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Individual Giving to join its Development department. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and results-driven leader with a strong commitment to a progressive policy agenda. Responsibilities for this role include leading and managing the Individual Giving team, supporting the Chief Development Officer with board recruitment, and carrying a portfolio of 75 six-figure and prospective donors. The role demands a strategic approach to enhance unrestricted funding and generate new programmatic support, as well as the ability to balance a rigorous travel schedule to engage with funders. The Vice President will also be expected to coach and mentor the team, establish credibility within the department, and ensure the mission and core values of the organization are upheld. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, a minimum of 10 years' relevant work experience, and at least 5 years of fundraising experience with a focus on principal gifts. A proven track record in managing a six- and seven-figure donor portfolio, as well as experience in mission-aligned areas, is essential. The role requires excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to work with data to drive fundraising strategy. Familiarity with progressive philanthropic sectors and experience in soliciting progressive political donors are preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at multitasking in a fast-paced environment, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines. A deep commitment to the mission of the organization and a broad progressive agenda is a must.
