The Role
Xylem is looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Assembler, Painter, Crater . This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to work hard, learn new skills, and be part of a team that builds products with real impact. If you have experience in construction or enjoy hands-on work where you're on your feet all day, this could be the perfect fit. This role is in an indoor construction-style environment , where listening, learning, and being a strong culture fit matter just as much as technical ability.

What You'll Do
    \n
  • Assemble turbine pumps of varying complexity for shipment or performance testing.
  • \n
  • Read and interpret orders, bills of materials, and assembly drawings/layouts.
  • \n
  • Use hand and power tools for assembly and other assigned tasks.
  • \n
  • Fabricate wooden crates and skids for pumps and components; mark crates per order instructions.
  • \n
  • Verify orders for completeness, providing weights and dimensions to the export coordinator.
  • \n
  • Paint pumps using standard and special paints.
  • \n
  • Support and comply with all safety and 5S requirements.
  • \n
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production.
  • \n

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • \n
  • Mechanical aptitude or construction experience is a plus (indoor construction environment).

  • Ability to read basic drawings and use measuring tools like calipers and scales (we'll provide training).
  • \n
  • Ability to lift and handle medium-weight parts (up to 35 lbs; heavier parts handled with a hoist).
  • \n
  • Comfortable using forklifts and cranes (training provided if not certified).
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Up to 1 year of experience in assembly, painting, or crating.
  • \n
  • Previous construction or shop-related experience.
  • \n

Physical Demands & Work Environment
    \n
  • Standing and walking for most of the shift, with bending and stooping required.
  • \n
  • Indoor shop environment with some seasonal temperature variation.
  • \n
  • Exposure to noise - PPE such as safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes is required.
  • \n
  • Work around electrical leads, motors, and wiring.
  • \n

The estimated salary range for this position is $17 to $20. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
