Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Law degree required and 1+ years of legal experience, preferably from working on Capitol Hill, in the federal government or state regulatory agency, or at an industry association.

  • Knowledge of the Administrative Procedure Act and administrative law
  • Knowledge of any major federal environmental law, Endangered Species Act, or National Environmental Policy Act.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can anticipate needs before they arise and resolve issues quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects and ever-changing priorities.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

The NMA is a proud equal opportunity employer. We are committed to furthering our engagement with, support for, and understanding of, our community; supporting all team members in being themselves; and driving the ongoing diversification of our team. We believe that everyone has distinct characteristics, skills and backgrounds that make their experiences as members of the NMA team and the perspectives they bring to the office unique. We want to encourage and celebrate that uniqueness. Above all else, through our work, the ultimate goal is to maintain a welcoming culture for all. NMA provides a robust benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as life and disability coverage. Additionally, employees receive commuter benefits to help with parking or public transportation costs. NMA also offers paid time off, sick leave, and holidays.

Starting salary in the range of $125,000 to $145,000 commensurate with experience.
