An advanced degree related to music technology and/or production is required by the time of appointment, and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) or other appropriate terminal degree is required for a tenure-track appointment. Candidates must be proficient in Pro Tools, Logic, and other production software and have experience with live sound and production. Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
The teaching load is 24 credits annually (typically four 3-credit courses per term) and the successful candidate will teach a variety of courses in the undergraduate programs in Music Production and Audio Engineering (B.M.) and Music (B.A.). The successful candidate will advise and mentor students, be willing to participate in recruiting prospective students, engage in service activities in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts, maintain an active portfolio of professional activity and production, and collaborate with live sound and performances in Musical Theatre/Theatre Arts and audio production in Film and Media Arts. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and institutional service, as well as an understanding of, and appreciation for, the mission of liberal arts institutions.
