About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to serve as the lead clinician for its health plan, with a focus on the Maine and New Hampshire markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of medical services, ensuring the development and implementation of medical policies and clinical guidelines that promote the appropriate and cost-effective delivery of healthcare. This role involves driving the direction of the plan in relation to the cost of care and other medical directives, as well as working closely with the market plan president in meetings with State Regulators. The Chief Medical Officer will also support the medical management staff, provide guidance on clinical operational aspects, and lead activities that impact the efficiency and effectiveness of care. Applicants must have an MD or DO with board certification and a minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with a strong preference for those with health plan experience. The role requires an active, unrestricted medical license to practice in both Maine and New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, capable of identifying and developing opportunities for innovation in medical care, and will have a proven track record of sharing best practices and expertise with medical directors. The Chief Medical Officer may also be called upon to represent the company to external entities and serve on external committees, so a deep understanding of the healthcare and medical arena is essential.
