In-Home Furniture Repair Technician

A large furniture retailer in the Houston area is looking for candidates for our In-Home Furniture Repair Technician position. Must have experience with upholstery repairs including structural issues, internal mechanism replacements, replacing cut & sewn parts, electrical parts, and case goods repair. As an In-Home furniture repair technician, you will be responsible for inspecting the furniture in the customer’s home, determining what parts are needed and completing the repair by the standards we are well known for in the furniture industry.

Job Responsibilities

• Communicate & work directly with the shop manager and customer service department to

ensure customer repairs are completed promptly. You must complete all service reports and provide the information needed to the customer service department so parts

can be ordered, or the next step communicated so the in-home service can be finished.

• Maintain a clean and organized shop area/service truck.

• Make sure all repairs are completed as quickly as possible. Adhere to all standard operating procedures and ensure daily/weekly/monthly performance levels are achieved.

• Interact with internal and external customers professionally and respectfully.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of furniture repair of all types with an emphasis on motion furniture.

• Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills as well as attention to detail

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Outstanding communication skills with internal and external customers.

• Ability to push, bend, stoop, stand, kneel, lift, move, and carry furniture of various sizes.
